
Atlanta: The Consulate General of India in Atlanta, in partnership with MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, successfully organized the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 as part of the global mega-event held across more than 150 international locations.
The Atlanta jurisdiction witnessed over 300 runners and 50 volunteers, joined by students, professionals, community leaders, and friends of India, turning the city into a vibrant hub of energy, pride, and collective.

Held under the banner of Seva Pakhwada (17 September 2 October), the run symbolized India’s transformative journey in infrastructure, healthcare, technology, and sustainability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. With the theme “Run to Serve the Nation,” participants completed 3-kilometre community runs, embodying the values of Seva Bhav (spirit of service) and echoing the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

A highlight of the event was the collective recitation of the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, uniting Atlanta’s diaspora with Indians across the globe in their commitment to building a developed, self-reliant India by 2047.
In line with environmental sustainability, more than 200 saplings were distributed to participants under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, encouraging families to plant trees in honor of loved ones. This green act resonated with India’s ethos of responsibility toward the planet.

The Atlanta run was graced by dignitaries including Georgia Senator Shawn Still, Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry, Councilmen Dilip Tunki and Bob Erramilli, SEWA USA President Srikanth Gundavarapu, and Padma Shri Dr. Dhananjay Diwakar Sagdeo. Their presence highlighted the growing recognition of India’s development story and the importance of engagement .
